Acne is classified as mild, moderate or severe. Mild acne consists of blackheads, whiteheads and a few spots or pimples. Moderate acne is more inflamed skin and patches of stains. Severe acne is more extensive, often affecting the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders, with pustules and papules, which are deep-seated and long lasting. They are often painful, and most likely to scar the skin, which is a color long after the acne is left disappeared.
